Do you sometimes feel like an island unto yourself? How would you like to be able to communicate with your counterparts all over the state and nation instantaneously at no cost? Well, you can by joining the Florida Tobacco Control Listserv System. A listserv is a mailing list of subscribers interested in participating in discussions and sharing information on a specific subject. Although the focus is on Florida, people from other states are welcome to join.

TOBACCO (Florida Tobacco Control public listserv)

The purpose of the Florida Tobacco Control listserv is to provide a cost-effective and efficient means for individuals and groups interested in tobacco cessation and prevention programs to mentor, solicit information and resources, and share ideas and practices. The tobacco listserv is open to all who wish to be involved in tobacco prevention and cessation. All other listservs are member-restricted.

How to Subscribe

Follow the instructions below to subscribe using your favorite e-mail program.

Using e-mail, send a message to mdaemon@boom2.esp.fsu.edu. Please leave the subject line blank. Type the following information into the body of the message:

subscribe tobacco

Shortly thereafter, you will receive a subscription confirmation message from the server, indicating whether your request was successful. If you encounter difficulty in subscribing to the list, please contact the list administrator at gpoplin@mail.esp.fsu.edu.

To Send a Message

Sending a message is easy. When you want to send a message to everyone on the mailing list, send it to tobacco@boom2.esp.fsu.edu. Please use a descriptive subject line.

TOBACCO_COORDINATORS (Florida Tobacco Prevention Coordinators)

The tobacco coordiantors listserv is designed to facilitate communication between the many local tobacco prevention coordinators in Florida. Membership is restricted, however if you wish to send a message to everyone on the mailing list, it's easy. Just send it to Tobacco_Coordinators@boom2.esp.fsu.edu.

TOBACCO_ADV_BOARD (Florida Tobacco Control Clearinghouse Advisory Board)

The Tobacco Control Clearinghouse Advisory Board listserv is designed to facilitate communication between the members of the advisory board, as well as with the Office of Tobacco Control. Membership is restricted, however you may send a message to everyone on the list by mailing to Tobacco_Adv_Board@boom2.esp.fsu.edu.
